KNACKSAT Program

Overview

The KNACKSAT Program (KMUTNB Academic Challenge of Knowledge SATellite) is Thailand’s trailblazing university-led small-satellite initiative, igniting a new era of national achievement in space. KNACKSAT empowers students and engineers to turn their ambitions into remarkable realities, proving that with determination and teamwork, even the boldest dreams can soar to new heights. By building complete capability in satellite engineering—from the first spark of an idea to the awe of launch and in-orbit triumph—KNACKSAT inspires everyone to embrace challenges with courage and curiosity.

Refusing to be limited by convention or fear of failure, KNACKSAT champions a bold, stepwise approach: Fly early, Fly often, Learn from every experience, and keep climbing in reliability, complexity, and impact. This motivational philosophy, drawn from the world’s most innovative CubeSat programs, lights the way for Thai talent to lead and inspire on the global stage of space exploration.

The program is driven by a tight university–industry–international partnership:

KMUTNB – Core satellite engineering, education, and workforce development

INSTED – Mission definition, systems engineering, ground segment, and space policy linkage

NBSPACE – Industrialization, fabrication, integration, and commercialization

KYUTECH (Japan) – Space qualification, testing, and ISS/J-SSOD ecosystem integration

Government and Industrial Organizations – Space policy, requirements, and utilization

This empowering structure transforms education into engineering achievements, turns research into real flight systems, and elevates prototypes into commercial successes. By uniting ambition with opportunity, KNACKSAT motivates a new generation to break barriers and shape the future of space for Thailand and the world.
